Hello and welcome to this introduction to creating your own mission (scenario).

Below is a detailed explanation of how to create a mission.
Even though this tutorial was created with P3dV6, building and flying this mission works just as well in P3dV4 and P3dV5.

Overview:

1) Create a new flight:
In the first tutorial, a normal flight is created with an oil leak preset.
(With this flight you can compare at the end if a mission is better).

2) Create your own mission:
In the second part, using the previously created normal flight as a template, a really simple mini-mission is created.
(This mission is created in a few minutes, and is equivalent to the "normal flight", with one exception: the oil does not flow out at top speed).

3) Expand the mission:
In part three, a text overlay is added to the mission. A simple text which instructs the user to take off and climb to 8000 feet.
(Again, this extension is added to the mission in less than 10 minutes).

4) Complete the mission:
In the fourth and last part, more text is added, besides a "Goal" that evaluates if you have completed the mission correctly. A briefing and a mission picture is created and built in.
(For this, already quite comfortable mission, a skilled mission creator needs less than an hour).

To show more features of SimDirector, the mission is extended here.

Overview:

Example flight Expand (Part1):
In the first part, some basics are explained. New or not yet used objects are used, e.g. a PropertyTrigger is used to evaluate the propeller speed (RPM).

Example flight Expand (Part2):
In the second part, PropertyTrigger and TimeTrigger are used to ensure that the engine can recover when the RPM is reduced. An oil leak can be avoided completely.

Example flight Expand (Part3):
In the third part a flight plan is created (Sion-Geneva). Furthermore it is explained how to edit the flight file (*.fxml) manually.

Example flight Expand (Part4):
In the fourth part, PointOfInterest are built in, these are displayed in the mission compass.

Example flight Expand (Part5):
In the fifth part the Goals are adapted. In addition, RandomAction is used to ensure that an oil leak occurs with 50% chance at waypoint 1.

Extend flight Expand (Part6):
In the sixth part, a 50% chance of an oil leak at waypoint 2 is added, including an emergency landing site, which is displayed by PointOfInterest. Also adjustments to the briefing and changes to the *.fxml.

I wish you a lot of fun with the replica.

Here it goes: Create a new flight.
I hope you enjoy these flights, if so, please give feedback to p3d@andi20.ch.
Also send error messages (spelling mistakes, wrong information, etc.) to me, I appreciate any feedback.
